Meet Finny

As the Office of Institutional Advancement’s (IA) Student Liaison, Finny helps students connect with our network of 20,000+ alumni and tap into resources provided by IA, such as mentors, club speakers, travel funding, scholarships, club funding, and more. Whenever students see Finny, they know that an event or resource is being brought to them by IA.

Travel Awards

Students can apply for travel awards to assist with expenses related to attending conferences, presenting research, attending medical mission trips, or participating in community service projects.

With an extensive list of alumni willing to speak to students, we can help student organizations find a great speaker to share professional insights with their members.

Crowdfunding

Designed to help student organizations raise funds for projects and programs that are a PCOM-based and approved initiative.

Mock Residency Interviews

Each fall, fourth year DO students may sign up for a virtual mock residency interview with an alum in their preferred specialty.

Can IA provide me with contact information for a specific alum?

If you are looking to connect with a specific alum, we encourage you to first search our Connect to Your Future Mentor Directory to see if their information is available. If they are not listed, please contact us at alumni@pcom.edu. Due to privacy concerns, we cannot release alumni information to students without the alum’s permission. We will reach out to the alum for permission to share their contact information with you.

How will I know when applications are open for travel awards?

Students will be notified via an email from Finny when application periods are open. Application periods can be found below.

Can my organization request speaker funding multiple times a year?

Yes, a student organization can request funding more than one time a year. Funding is on a first-come, first-served basis and limited to $500 dollars until funds run out.
