If you have not yet heard back from your interviewer within 2-3 days, send them a reminder using their preferred contact method. Our office often finds that alumni will read the message but need that reminder to respond! If you still don’t hear anything, try using their alternate contact information to call and leave a message, or email them to say you reached out via their preferred contact method and would like to schedule a time for their interview.
We cannot assign new interviewers due to scheduling challenges. Because our alumni are taking time from their busy careers and personal lives to volunteer with this program, students are expected to be as flexible as possible when scheduling the mock interview. This might mean you need to conduct your interview on a weekend or weekday morning/evening.
If your interviewer asks for your personal statement and you are comfortable sharing it, you are permitted to do so, however, it is not required. Interviewers have been instructed not to ask for your grades, board scores, or transcripts, as this violates FERPA. Interviewers have been instructed to conduct the mock interview under the assumption that you meet the criteria to be invited for a residency interview in your specialty.
If you no longer wish to participate, please email your alumni interviewer to let them know. Please also email alumni@pcom.edu so we can pair your interviewer with a student on our wait list.
As the Office of Institutional Advancement’s (IA) Student Liaison, Finny helps students connect with our network of 20,000+ alumni and tap into resources provided by IA, such as mentors, club speakers, travel funding, scholarships, club funding, and more. Whenever students see Finny, they know that an event or resource is being brought to them by IA.
